During a recent dinner at Top of the Rock’s Osage Restaurant, I sat in one of the dining room’s voluminous chairs, gazed out over the gorgeous Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake and decided the only thing that would make this meal better was a cocktail. The cocktail menu was small but thoughtful, and my eye went straight to the Le Fizz, a simple little drink made with vodka, lime juice and St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur with some club soda for its namesake bubbles. Never a fan of vodka and always a fan of gin, I asked my server to swap out the liquor in my drink, and she happily obliged. Although I wasn’t drinking the Le Fizz as its creator intended it, I loved every sip of this light and fizzy drink. The floral notes in the St-Germain played nicely with the herbaceous gin. The lime juice added a zippy brightness but not too much sweetness.
