Christkindlmarket
What’s better than a stellar winter farmers’ market? A stellar winter farmers’ market that knows how to dress up for the holidays.

One of 417-land’s biggest and best farmers’ markets transforms into a winter wonderland for the holiday season, and it’s a must-visit spot if you have gift shopping on your to-do list. (And whose list doesn’t?) The annual Christkindlmarket at Webb City Farmers Market includes the regular farmers’ market fare, like baked goods, meat, honey and produce that are all made, grown or raised locally. Even in winter, there are plenty of goods, like locally roasted coffee from Cottage Small
Coffee Roasters that’s based in Carthage.
But there are also opportunities to mix and mingle with local artists who have set up shop to sell their handmade products. Last year the Christkindlmarket featured Christmas wreaths and décor, handmade jewelry and accessories, cozy knit hats and scarves, and little gifty goodies that would make ideal stocking stuffers (tiny little bars of handmade soap, for example). This year, make sure you pay a visit and see who stops by to share their homemade goods.
While you’re there, enjoy the festive spirit of the holiday market, with music, wintry drinks, craft and cooking demonstrations, holiday decorations and more. And there’s no need to worry about a nip in the air since the Christkindlmarket is held in a heated pavilion that will warm you right up.
The best part is that the holiday extravaganza is kid-friendly, too. In fact, if you bring your little ones on December 12 and 19, they might get a chance to see the big bearded man in red as Santa stops by for a visit.
