What it Tastes Like:
The ginger-pineapple mojito is a new favorite drink at an old favorite sushi spot. This delicious concoction adds a couple of new flavors to one of my favorite cocktails: The mojito. It’s a little more exotic, with the ginger liqueur lending a distinctly Asian flair to the flavor profile. Although this drink is made with both pineapple juice and simple syrup, it’s not as sweet as a lot of mojitos I’ve had, and for me that’s a good thing.
Ginger tastes fantastic with a little fruitiness. I loved the way the sharp (but not too intense) flavor of the ginger liqueur played with the fruity sweetness of the pineapple juice. The mint was muddled perfectly, giving every sip a refreshing minty burst.
I squeezed every little drop of the lime garnish into my drink, for a slightly tart kick. With my spicy sushi rolls and salty edamame, this was the perfect companion beverage.—Katie Pollock Estes
