About Discovery Center

The Discovery Center of Springfield is a nonprofit science center dedicated to inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love of learning through engaging, hands-on experiences in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, the Center relies on admissions, memberships, program fees, and donations to support its educational mission, programs, and exhibits.

Visitors can explore over 60,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space across six floors, offering a variety of hands-on adventures for all ages. Exhibits include:

• Walking through the inner workings of a giant eyeball.
• Digging for dinosaurs in the largest gallery of giant animatronic dinosaurs in the Midwest.
• Flying in the cockpit of a real Merlin aircraft.
• Experiencing the only Lu Digital Interactive Playground accessible to the public in North America.
• Building with LEGO in the newly remodeled Brickyard.
• Riding the HighWire Bike.

The Center also offers educational programs, summer camps, and the Discovery School, providing a comprehensive learning environment for children and families.
