Recorded in the cozy chapel of Washington Avenue Baptist Church on Drury’s campus, Barak Hill’s live album is full of perfect acoustics and intimate moments. Hill draws laughter with between-song banter and roaring applause following the pregnant pauses at the end of each of the 24 tracks—a pseudo greatest hits collection from his previous six releases. Washington Avenue was recorded, mixed and mastered by Justin Walker, who aptly captures the music along with the room and its occupants.
