How long have you been working at 417?
I started as an intern in January of 2021 and was beyond excited, it felt like a dream job. Then I graduated and the dream continued when I got to start full time that May.
What's your favorite part of your job at 417?
Interviews! I love getting to talk to so many different people for such a wide variety of topics and have an entire conversation devoted to getting to know more about a little sliver of their life.
What is your favorite place in 417-land?
The top of Wildfire at Silver Dollar City. It has the best view of Table Rock Lake (my other favorite 417-land location) and makes my stomach drop to my feet every single time.
Are you from 417-land? If not, where did you grow up and what keeps you here?
I'm from a small town in Kansas that will always have a sentimental place in my heart, but somehow I have grown to love the Ozarks just as much. I have found that 417-land offers all of the sweet small town charm of my hometown but with all of the resources of a big city and is the perfect place to raise a family.
What did (or do) you want to be when you grew up?
In preschool I would've said a ballerina. But since the third grade—when I realized I had no dance skills and a career in pink slippers probably wasn't an option—I've always said a journalist. Which to be honest, I only knew was the official title because I went home from school before career day and asked my mom what they called someone who wrote stories for newspapers and magazines.
What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
My husband and I love quiet weekends walking through our neighborhood, hanging out with friends and eating dinner on our deck.
