When it’s time for your next staycation, head to downtown Springfield for a night or two in an expansive modern loft. Perched on McDaniel Street above Hook Creative, the rental is officially dubbed WestBrick Luxury Loft and includes exposed brick walls and metal details for the industrial look people are loving right now. And it’s chock full of personality—there’s a red spiral staircase, a wine fridge, a fireplace and a dart board. Josh Stewart, who owns both the loft and Hook Creative, purchased the loft at the same time he purchased his storefront. It was already renovated by Hufft architects and fully furnished, but Stewart did add his own touch by building a murphy bed to maximize space and functionality. Stewart and his family are actually building their own home right now, and he says they have been inspired by the loft and borrowed a few elements to achieve a modern farmhouse look.
