Craft the Perfect Gourmet Gift Basket
Say happy holidays to loved ones with a perfectly curated gift basket. Follow these simple tips and your basket will shine bright like a diamond.

1. Pick a Theme
Think of who the gift basket is for and plan the theme around their interests and taste. Want to make one for a garden lover? Then pull basket-filling items like paper white bulbs, garden gloves and a rosemary-scented candle.
2. Create a Color Scheme
Pick a color scheme and try to stick with it. This will help the basket look cohesive and stylish.
3. Keep it Local
What makes a gift basket really special is that fact that you chose each item personally. Locally made or sourced goods always seem more thoughtful.
4. Build Your Basket Right
You want to start with a shallow basket, bowl or box so you can see the items peeking out. Fill your base with tissue paper. This holds items in place. Then add a pretty tea towel.
5. Add Some Decoration
If your basket is for the holidays then you need to add a little bit of flair. Try adding an on-theme ornament or a few small decorative trees.
